Mike’s Week on the Mike (23 February – 1 March)

by Mike on February 28, 2009

I described Reading this week as “The Las Vegas of the Thames Valley”, and I don’t see why it shouldn’t rise to claim its crown. I’ve seen plenty of it this week, with two jobs for Matinée Sound and Vision. One was for Computer Associates for their range of antivirus, anti spyware and computer security products; the other was for production company Pictures and Words, on building site safety. The Matinée people are always nice to deal with, and after Thursday’s session they even sent me away with a nice packed lunch (complete with apple and packet of crisps. What more could I ask?)

Monday morning started with me writing and recording some new links for Film24 following Sunday night’s Oscars ceremony. I couldn’t write them any earlier, obviously!

On Wednesday, Met Film asked me to record three voiceovers for the winners of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For, for the awards on Thursday night. I also visited Jean-Paul Orr at The Showreel to do a new commercial demo reel, which I’ll be unveiling shortly. Watch this space!

I also heard this week that I got the gig for the dyslexic English learning job for later in March. Oh, and if you live within the service area of Telford FM in Shropshire, you might hear me inviting you to dinner with legendary footballing duo “Saint and Greavsie” over the next few weeks, thanks to a little ISDN job for Ginger Productions.
