Mid-August Update

by Mike on August 12, 2009

I know I keep saying this, but things have been busy again! Which is great news, of course. Since I last wrote a big update like this (in, erm, June) I’m delighted to say that there’s been plenty of good voiceover work coming my way.

The highlights have been – in no particular order – six new programmes I voiced for National Geographic Channel, which are currently midway through their first showing on Nat Geo Wild here in the UK, the opening of “Planet You 3D” in both Boston and Houston in the USA, and the debut of “Fahrenheit 2010″ at the Durban International Film festival. These last two were long-distance voiceover collaborations with producers on different continents, and it’s heartening that things went so well and that the producers were so pleased with the results!

As well as these higher-profile jobs I’ve been working with some other new clients, including providing voiceovers for The Travel Channel’s new UK channel, Travel Deals Direct. (If you’re interested in grabbing a bargain then Sky channel 647 would apparently be a very good place to start looking!)

There’s also been a steady flow of corporate and training and eLearning voiceover work for clients like PPD, Monster and CapGemini, as well as an ongoing trickle of ISDN radio commercials and the odd TV spot. I was also recently asked to provide a demo voice for a large campaign for a major store in Australia – more on which if and when it comes off (fingers crossed!) And my Facebook Page has just crossed over the 200 “fans” mark, which is great!

There’s more news waiting in the wings, but I have to say that I’m looking forward to a week’s break in September just to chill out and relax a little before – wait for it – the run-up to Christmas!
