“Fahrenheit 2010″ promo now online

The World Cup documentary “Fahrenheit 2010” now has a trailer online. I provided the voiceover narration for the film earlier this year and things are now moving forward in terms of TV distribution around the world. I’ve also just heard that the film will be showing on 5th November here in the UK at the Cambridge African Film Festival.

Here’s the trailer:

Rock On Down Under… Mike Cooper voices Pink Floyd campaign

From today British Voiceover Artist Mike Cooper can be heard selling good old-fashioned British rock music to the people of Queensland, Australia. It’s another brick in the wall for his new partnership with Kathy Evans Voice Management…

Triple M logoTriple M 104.5 Brisbane’s campaign begins airing today in preparation for “Wish to the Moon and Beyond: The Ultimate Pink Floyd Spectacular” at Brisbane’s QPAC in November. The commercial was produced by Austereo Senior Creative Writer, Geoff Esdaile, who decided the authentic British sound would be perfect for the spot. Geoff came to Mike via his Sydney agent, Kathy Evans. Mike has been one of Kathy’s Global Voices since she launched the offshoot of her successful and long-established New South Wales agency a few months ago.

Kathy’s take on the results? “Sounds pretty good… if you close your eyes you can almost see that giant pink pig floating above your head!”

Promo voiceovers for GMTV

Here’s one of three voiceovers I did yesterday for GMTV in London which are currently showing on national television here in the UK. You can see the others on my YouTube channel and on my facebook page (don’t forget to sign up!)

New Commercial Sampler now online

Time goes by so quickly (regardless of what Madonna might think) and it’s been some time since I edited a new commercial sampler together. This one features a selection of commercials that have aired over the last few months on various stations in the UK and elsewhere. My ISDN and Source-Connect equipped studio means I’m available for this type of recordings at short notice, so please do contact me on the number at the top of the page if I can help!

Early October update

My voiceover news updates seem to have slowed down a little of late. That’s not because there’s less to write, but more because there seems to have been less time of late to write it! There was also the small matter of a (well-earned) holiday to Menorca in early September, which gave me the opportunity to stop thinking about voiceover work for a little while, with the net result that I came back refreshed and ready for action.

So, what’s been happening in the last six weeks or so since the last time I rounded things up?

Well, August was a mad month, with a nice spread of voiceover work from clients old and new, many of them finding me through this website . All that search engine optimisation stuff I’ve been banging away at for the last year seems to have paid off! As a result I was pleased to welcome new clients like Learning Dynamics and GoLocalise to the fold. This trend continued into September with a corporate video for Qatar-based Qatofin, a large eLearning job for Alcatel/Lucent and an interesting project from an independent producer, called “Drivesafe” – more of which closer to its launch. I also voiced a short film for the UK’s Environment Agency, which I’m pleased to present here:

My work as a continuity announcer for Film24 and The History Channel has continued throughout, as have my commitments for the BBC World Service, Travel Deals Direct, QVC – and via my agents, The Voiceover Gallery.

I’ve been slightly better at keeping in touch with the world via my facebook fan page, which – at time of writing – now has 275 followers, twitter, and I’ve been adding material to my YouTube channel too, as well as blogging regularly, both with Friday Fun posts and some other commentary. Plus there’s been a round of networking through the IVCA, commercials for UK radio stations, and the odd TV promo to keep me busy.

Boys’ toys have also been on my mind, with a new microphone to try out (the Neumann TLM 193, which I compared to the TLM 103 on my blog) and I recently invested in an Avalon 737 microphone preamp, with which I’ve been very happy so far.

Still not enough? What else? Oh yes, I helped my good friend – Foodie and Broadcaster, Bill Buckley – to set up his own blog and facebook page too.

So yes, I’ve had a fair bit on, come to think of it!
